Tainan Municipal Sinying District Sinmin Elementary School
Location
History Sinmin Public Elementary School, named Sinying District Public Elementary School in 1942, had consisted of only three wooden houses to start serving people's emergent needs of basic education here in Sinying, under Japan's dominion. That's to say, the foundation of Sinmin Public Elementary School could date back to the Second World War, an epoch when everybody had been experiencing some extreme situation on almost everything- especially the neglect and lack of the right to get educated. During years from 1942 to 1982, Sinmin continued its role as a cradle of outstanding students in lots of aspects: volley ball, baseball, gymnastic team, and marching band etc. Lots of its students won prizes, like Lee Chu-Ming and Shen Ching-Wen, members of ROC baseball team, winner of the World Little League Baseball Championship. Sinmin even managed to establish a Natural Science Research Center, for advanced research on children's science course design. In 1992, the 18 years,Natural Science Experiment Class research came to a glorious end. From 1993 to 1997, Sinmin's old-fashioned buildings had gone through a serious of reformation to become brighter, wider and comforter places for students to acquire knowledge. Following the establishment of music experiment class in 1997, in 1999, with the main donation from Dr. Chang Chao-Ron, chairman of Parents' Association, and with the aid of superordinates, a new multifunctional modern music hall was established. This is a respectable school with great traditions and styles.
